Meet new board member Dr. Paul Rapnicki
Tell us about yourself and your involvement with sustainability.
I’ve dedicated 40 years to the US dairy industry, working as a practicing dairy veterinarian, an academic instructor, a consultant in the animal health industry, and now with dairy farms supplying the Grande Cheese Company. Throughout my career, I’ve championed sustainability by promoting animal welfare, efficient resource use, and minimizing environmental impact. Currently, I collaborate with farms to produce a high-quality, safe, and nutritious milk supply, helping to ensure a sustainable future for the dairy industry.
Tell us why you are committed to Farmers for Sustainable Food and what it means to your organization or farm.
I am deeply committed to FSF and the farmer-led groups because I believe in the power of collaboration to drive meaningful changes in the dairy industry. Working closely with farmers allows us to share knowledge, innovate, and implement sustainable practices that benefit everyone involved. This commitment aligns perfectly with Grande Cheese Company’s values and mission. By supporting this group, we ensure that our supply chain is not only producing high-quality, safe, and nutritious milk but is also focused on long-term sustainability. This partnership is crucial for Grande Cheese Company as it helps us maintain our reputation for excellence while also contributing to a more sustainable and resilient dairy industry.
What are you looking forward to the most in your role as an FSF board member?
I’m looking forward to engaging with a diverse group of professionals who share my passion for sustainability and dairy farming, allowing for the exchange of innovative ideas and best practices.
